-November 1st: Open Enrollment starts.

-December 15th: Deadline to enroll in coverage that starts the 1st of January.

-January 15th: Open Enrollment ends. Last day to enroll in coverage for a February 1st start date.

After January 15th: You can only get a health plan if you have a Special Enrollment Period.

You can qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if you’ve had certain life events, including losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child, or if your household income is below a certain amount.

You can report changes to the Marketplace in 3 different ways: online, BY phone, or in person.

Or if you are working with our office or another local agency you can give them a call and have them update your application on your behalf.

When you have Marketplace insurance coverage, you'll pay your premium directly to the insurance company - not the Marketplace, or your local agent. Your coverage won't start until you pay your first premium. Contact your agent or plan to find out how they accept payment.

On the Marketplace, you want to go based on your Adjusted Gross Income, (AGI). So your income before taxes. If you sold a home or took money out of a 401K you would also include this in your estimate.
